Mangalore, Mar 20: Karthik and Vignesh of PSG Technology, Coimbatore, won the first prize for their paper on "Design of an innovative and non-invasive technique for foetal heart rate monitoring" at "Anveekasha - 2007", the technical paper presentation programme held at St Aloysius College here recently, according to a press release from the college on Monday.

Other awards

Yog Dutt Jain and Antony Mahapatra of MIT, Manipal, won the second place for their essay "Audio classification and retrieval using pitch variations". In the "Network Security Section", Sudesh S and Rilson of the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bangalore, won the first prize for their paper on biometrics, and Rocha Prasad and Siddhartha Starker won the second prize for their essay on cryptography.
