Mangalore Mar 28: The Brahmakalashotsava ceremony of Shree Durgaparameswari Temple at Kateel will be held from Wednesday March 28 to Friday April 6.  This is for the first time in last 21 years that Brahmakalashotsava ceremony of the temple is held.

This was announced in a press conference held in the Temple premises by district-in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty.  About 3 lac devotees from India and abroad are expected to participate in this holy ritual.  Infrastructure development such as road connectivity, drinking water facilities and other works have been distributed to various committees which have been set-up for this purpose.

While Rs 22 lac has already been spent to cover the area around the Sanctum Santorum, Rs 9 lac has been spent on giving face-lift to the inner part of the and Rs 8.5 lac has been spent for flooring in the temple.  Along with this a total of Rs 5 la has been spent for the new flooring in VIP rooms.

Shetty also informed that the temple has bought Nandakudde Kudru, the original place of the Shree Durgaparameshwari Temple at a price of Rs 20 lac.
