Udupi, Apr 11: The new Gandhi Study Centre at MGM College here will be inaugurated by renowned writer U R Ananthamurthy on Saturday April 14, said college principal Jayaprakash Mavinakuli while addressing a press meet here on Tuesday April 10.
Registrar of the Academy of General Education K K Pai will preside over the inaugural programme while theatre artiste and writer G K Govinda Rao will be the chief guset on the occasion, Mavinakuli said.
A seminar on ‘Hind Swaraj’ and a national seminar on ‘Idea of India’ will be held on April 14 and April 15, respectively.
Stressing on the relevance of Gandhian philosophy in the present era, he informed that the centre would focus on research, lecture, collection of works of Gandhiji, translations of Gandhiji’s works, and will also strive to publish the same.
