Mangalore, Apr 14: The Lions Club of Lalbagh here will organize the fourth Lions district convention for 'Purity, Clarity and Dedication' on Saturday April 14 and Sunday April 15 at Immaculate Conception Church grounds and hall, Ladyhill here.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday April 13, distict governor Ln Dr B Udayashankar Shet informed that retired Lokayukta Justice N Venkatachala, Bangalore, will be the chief guest while Ln Dr B Udayashankar Shet will preside.

More than 1000 delegates are expected to attend the inaugural ceremony.

Elaborating the services rendered by the Lions and Lioness Clubs in the district, he said that a total of Rs 2,78,43,000 has been spent on various projects like education, health, homes, sports and games, women empowerment, physically challenged welfare, child care, community service and others.

Among those present at the press meet were conference committee chairman Leslie D'Souza, Ln district cabinet secretary M Mohan Shetty and coordinator Vincent Castelino.
