Mangalore, Apr 15: A day-long Workshop on Human Rights was inaugurated by Justice R Gururajan, Judge of High Court on Saturday April 14.

Matters that were deliberated on included HIV patients and their Human Rights. Asha Ramaiah, Secretary of Karnataka Network for HIV and AIDS, Bangalore,

Advocate G K Parameshwar Jois spoke at a session on senior citizens and human rights. Olinda Pereira of Vishwas Trust, Mangalore and Jeremias Braggs were also present at the session.

Dr B K Ravindra, principal of SDM law College spoke on Children and Human rights. H M Bharatesh, principal distric and session judge, and Renny D’Souza of VALORED were present at the session.

Dr Ravindranath Shanubogue, trustee of Human Rights Trust, Udupi moderated a session on human rights and functioning of the National Human Rights Commission. Mangalore Bar Association president K Monappa Bhandary and consumer activist Kateel Dinesh Pai were present on the occasion.
