Kundapur, Apr 23: "Retired life does not mean end of living but it is the beginning of a more meaningful life.  If one desires, life could really be made beautiful even after retirement," said Dr Shantaram, the administrative chief of Manipal University.

He was speaking on the occasion of a function organized by Bhandarkar's College Teachers' Association here on Sunday April 22.

Retired people with their mature experience and efficient service would be a source of wise counsel and guidance for the society.  They are not a waste material simply because they lead a life of superannuation, he added.

Prof Udayakumar presided over the function. The president Prabhakar Tolar of college trust and the member trustee B M Sukumar Shetty were present on the dais.

Farzana welcomed the gathering while Prof Rekha delivered introductory note. Prof. Arunachala Mayya compered.

Spot games were held at the end the program for members of the association and their families.
