Mangalore, Apr 24: Come rain and the threat to life and property increases. The recent showers posed a threat to the minor bridge near Farangipet which invited much media attention.
On Tuesday, April 24, another accident occurred near the Kankanady road. One side of the hill behind Fr Muller Hospital collapsed. The mishap occurred at 1 pm on Tuesday. The piece of land between Sahyadri hostel and the Hero Honda showroom on the Kankanady road was being levelled for constructing a clinic.
About 10 labourers were working on the site and had luckily left for lunch just minutes before the landslide. No harm to life has been reported.
