Mangalore, May 3: The Swarnima Karnataka Darshana Mela organized by Prajapati Brahmakumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya was inaugurated at Mangala Stadium grounds here on Wednesday May 2.

Speaking on the occasion, Swami Dharmapalanartha of the local branch of Adichunchanagiri Math lamented that the influence of western ideas and trends is resulting in a loss of spirituality among Indians.

He further said that people are being constantly troubled by their lifestyles owing to lack of spirituality and self confidence.

The Mela, which began in Bangalore in March, is being held in different parts of the state. The event will culminate on May 7.

Among those present were state Apex bank president M N Rajendra Kumar, Rajayogi Sikshana Kendra, Hubli director Brahmakumara Dr Basavaraj, Brahmakumaris chief of media division B K Karuna and others.
