Mangalore, May 3: The foundation stone for the Brahmasthana Temple will be laid at Mata Amritanandamayi Math here on Friday May 4.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday May 2, Mata Amritanandamayi Seva Samiti president Jeevraj Sorake informed that the foundation stone will be laid by Swami Poornamritananda Puri, who is also a senior disciple of Mata Amritanandamayi.

The 31st Brahmasthana to be built by the Math, the temple will be open to all people from different castes.

The ceremony will be marked by a mass Sarvaishwarya Yajna. There will also be a discourse and bhajans at T V Raman Pai Convention Centre here at 6.30 pm the same day.

Elaborating on other future plans, Sorake said that the Math will build ten houses for the poor near the temple.

Among those present were Samiti vice-president Vasudev Boloor, honorary secretary Yashwant Shreyan and others.
