Udupi, May 4: The renovated altar of Mother of Sorrows Church, here was inaugurated and blessed by Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore on Thursday May 3 evening.
After inagurating and blessing the renovated the altar Bishop Aloysius Paul offered Holy Eucharist along with parish priest Fr Mathew Vaz and other priests. Hundreds of parishioners also participated in the Eucharist.
A stage programme was held after the mass which was presided over by the Bishop. Parish priest Fr Mathew Vaz, Episcopal Vicar for Udupi region Fr Valerian D'Souza and donor Sunila D'Souza were also present on the dais.
The altar has been renovated at a total cost of Rs 4, 20,000.
