Mangalore, May 5: AIR city unit director C P Rajashekharan’s play ‘Oddolaga’, has been nominated for the international award 2007, at the 8th International Radio Festival which will be held at Mashad in Iran on Tuesday May 15 to Thursday May 17.

According to a press release the play deals with the atrocities of the beaureaucrats against subordinates, public and women, after gaining power through all sorts of misdeeds.

‘Oddolaga,’ blended with present day life of Yakshagana artistes and Yakshagana, very clearly highlights the fact that artistes perform contradictions between virtues and vices in the puranas on stage, but they themselves face the same in their real life from their bosses and governing bodies. Atrocities against women and the cruelty of alcoholics are also depicted in the play indirectly.

Rajashekharan has been awarded a number of national and state-level awards including the Sahitya Academy award, Sangeetha Nataka Academy award, Doordarshan and Akashavani awards and he has also been awarded termed the best public service broadcaster thrice, the release stated.
