Mangalore, May 5: Shivananda Navuda (25), a resident of Surikumeru near Vittal was arrested on Saturday May 5 at 11.30 am at Krishnapur near Suratkal regarding theft case. The police recovered gold worth 6 sovereigns from Shivananda Navunda.

Shivananda Navuda was working with Kodikal Shashidhar Navuda as an assistant priest. About 20 days ago, he was called for house warming ceremony of Vijayan located at Yemmekere, as a priest. It was here that he stole gold chain and fled.

 Eversince police were searching for him and were finally successful in tracking him down at Krishnapur on Saturday morning under the direction of circle inspector Venkatesh Prasanna.
