Mangalore, May 6: Deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao said promotion of art and culture is an essential part of civilized society.

He was speaking at the valedictory of the 25-day camp organized by the Sandesha Foundation for Art and culture in Bajjodi here, on Saturday May 5.

He said one has to develop interest in any type of arts and  it will help him to reduce stress. Anyone having pure love for art will bring fame to the nation. For this purpose, the annual Karavali Utsav organized by the district administration also gives an opportunity to the local talents.

Talented youngsters with a passion to excel in music, dance and other art forms could hope for  a satisfying career, said Ravichandran CEO of Glow Touch, Mangalore. He also launched the website of Sandesha.

Carnatic music artiste Prarthana Rao released a compact disc on multiplication tables for children.

Sandesha director Fr Francis Lewis was also present at this occasion.
