Mangalore, May 6: New Mangalore port Railway received first full rake of 60 containers (TEUs) at the port Railway Marshalling Yard here on Saturday May 5.
According to the press release it is for the first time that a container rake carrying 60 containers form Chennai to Mangalore arrived at marshalling Yard. The container has been unloaded in a record time of two hours; this proved the efficiency of port. It is said that those containers were meant for Maersk India Private Limited.
NMPT chairman P Tamilvanan expressed his happiness over the achievement and he appreciated the excellent support extended by the employees, workers, railway authorities and the users.
