Mangalore, May 8: Dravidian University in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, will offer MPhil and PhD degrees in Tulu and candidates are invited to send in their applications for the same, stated a press release.

The degrees are a part of the initiative taken by the University to promote studies in Tulu. A separate department was set up recently in this regard, stated department coordinator Dr Shivkumar Bharanya in the release.

Three candidates will be selected and each will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs 1,200 along with accommodation facilities. Those who have secured 55 per cent in MA in Kannada are eligible to apply.

Those interested may send their applications along with a DD of Rs 50 drawn in favour of the Registrar, Dravidian University, Kuppam enclosed in a sefl-addressed envelope or contact Dr Bharanya on 09441330816.

Candidates may also apply for MA course in Kannada at the University, the release stated.
