Mysore, May 10: Former Karnataka Minister H N Nanje Gowda on Tuesday filed a private complaint against Infosys chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy in a city court for showing disrespect to national anthem during President A P J Abdul Kalam's visit last month.

The case was filed under Section three of the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. In the complaint filed before first additional civil judge (senior division) and chief Judicial Magistrate G S Sangreshi, Gowda termed Murthy's act as 'unpardonable and a heinous crime'.

He said he moved the court following the police's failure to act on a complaint lodged by him. He accused the government and police of shielding the accused.

The court scheduled the case for recording Gowda's statement and hearing evidences for June two.
