Kundapur, May 11: Election will be held for the seats left vacant in some of the gram panchayats on June 3.

A press release from the tahsildar stated that the election will be held as per the scheduled prepared by the state election commission. 

By-election will be held for general seats and 8 backward class, 2 scheduled class seats in Koni GP, one scheduled class seat (for woman) in Beejadi GP, 2 SC (women) seats in Belur GP, 2 general and backward class A seats in Kalavara GP, B seats in Uppunda GP and 2 backward class A (women) seats in Hosangadi, the released stated.

Nomination may be filed from Wednesday May 16 to Wednesday May 23, except on holidays in the respective GPs. Nominations will be scrutinized on Tuesday May 24. The last date for the withdrawal of nominations will be May 24, and the elections will be held on June 3 while the counting will be held on June 4, stated the press release.
