Mangalore, May 11: SK Goldsmiths Industrial Cooperative Society Limited has made a record profit of Rs 62.69 lac during the financial year 2006-07.

Addressing press persons here on Thursday May 10 Society general manager K Umesh Acharya said that the society has been earning profit for the last 26 years. He also said that last year the share capital had increased from Rs 86.48 lac to Rs 97.22 lac as on March 31. The deposit amount also has increased to Rs 132.18 lac, he said.

While Rs 2056.76 lac has been given as loan to the members of the society, Rs 30 lac will be invested for the construction work of the society building which is also in progress at Bangrakulur, Acharya informed.

He said that the society made a record business of Rs 8942.42 lac during the year 2006-07.
