Mumbai, May 24: After papa Amitabh Bachchan playing on-screen dad, it's now Jaya's turn to play reel life mother to son Abhishek in family friend Goldie Behl's next movie 'Drona'.

While Abhishek has played Amitabh's son in more than one film, Jaya has so far not had an opportunity to play screen mom in any Hindi film. In the Bengali film 'Desh', Abhishek put in a special appearance as Jaya's NRI son.

Not only is Goldie Behl one of Abhishek's closest childhood friends, his father, producer-director Ramesh Behl, was also one of Jaya's close friends.

Jaya acted in one of Ramesh Behl's biggest hits 'Jawani Diwani' (1972) and its not so successful follow up, 'Dil Diwana'. When Ramesh Behl produced 'Yeh Vada Raha' in 1982, Jaya dubbed for its leading ladies Poonam Dhillon and Tina Munim.

Goldie hasn't made a film since his debut 'Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai' in 2001 with Abhishek Bachchan.

Priyanka Chopra has been cast alongside Abhishek in 'Drona'. "It is a big film in terms of canvas and budget. But it has only three main characters played by Jaya-ji, Abhishek and me," said Priyanka.

Incidentally, Jaya and Abhishek are also coming together in Pradeep Sarkar's "Laga Chunri Mein Daag", though not as mother and son.
