Mexico City, Aug 3 (IANS/EFE): A photojournalist who moved here from Veracruz state after receiving threats was among five people whose bodies were found in an apartment in the capital, officials said.

Ruben Espinosa's body was identified on Saturday at the coroner's office by one of his sisters.

The woman told weekly Proceso, which employed Espinosa, that he was beaten and shot twice.

The bodies of four women and a man were found inside an apartment on Friday night, a Federal District Attorney's Office spokesman told EFE.

The victims were all shot, the office said on Saturday.

A spokesmen for the District Attorney's Office told the El Universal newspaper that Espinosa, who also worked as a freelancer for the AVC news agency in Veracruz, was among those killed.

The federal government's Executive Commission for Assisting Victims also said Espinosa was murdered.

Espinosa moved to the city a few weeks ago after he was threatened and harassed in Veracruz, media reports said.

"He was very scared," Cuartoscuro news agency chief Pedro Valtierra told El Universal.

Residents of a building saw the body of a woman tied to a bed through the window of an apartment and called police, media reports said.

Investigators from the District Attorney's Office went to the crime scene and spent several hours gathering evidence.

Two of the female victims were found in one bedroom, while the male victim and another female were discovered in another bedroom. The body of a domestic servant was found in the bathroom.
