Mumbai, Aug 3: The latest episode of Lock Upp 2 witnessed high emotional drama as Harshad Chopda became the season's first finalist after an emotional face-off with fellow contestant Shivangi Joshi.
The episode began with contestants being asked to choose the first finalist of the season. While some participants received cash prizes, others were given special powers. Shreya Kalra was handed the authority to eliminate one contestant of her choice.
As the task progressed, only Harshad Chopda and Shivangi Joshi remained inside the cell, with one of them set to secure the first place in the finale.
During the emotional exchange, Harshad revealed that he had deliberately lost an earlier challenge.
"I lost that game on purpose," he told Shivangi.
The revelation left Shivangi in tears. She questioned why Harshad had intentionally sacrificed his opportunity, saying that if winning Lock Upp 2 was destined for her, she would eventually lift the trophy.
Initially, both contestants offered to step out of the cell so that the other could become the first finalist. However, Harshad later decided to stay, explaining that he wanted an opportunity to finally play for himself.
When jailor Riteish Deshmukh asked the two to make a final decision, Shivangi voluntarily stepped out of the cell, making Harshad the first confirmed finalist of the season.
The emotional moment continued as Shivangi broke down, insisting that Harshad was no more deserving of the finalist spot than she was. Seeing her in tears also left Harshad emotional, as he realised the impact of his decision. The two contestants have shared a close bond and consistently supported each other throughout the reality show.
The episode also featured a surprise twist when Shreya Kalra exercised her special power to nominate one contestant for elimination.
Contrary to expectations that she would target Yogesh Rawat or Akanksha Chamola, Shreya chose Shivangi Joshi for elimination, leaving both contestants and viewers stunned.
Whether Shivangi will actually be eliminated or the show's makers introduce another twist remains to be seen in the upcoming episode.
Meanwhile, the emotional showdown between Harshad and Shivangi generated mixed reactions on social media, with several viewers praising their bond while others expressed fatigue over their repeated emotional sacrifices for one another during the course of the show.
