MUMBAI, Jul 3: Heavy rains lashed the metropolis in the small hours on tuesday, disrupting road, rail and air traffic.

There were heavy rains from 2:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. and the rainfall recorded at Colaba Observatory in south Mumbai during the period was 32.9 mm.

Santa Cruz recorded a 10 mm rainfall during the period, the Met Office said.


Trees were uprooted due to the rains and winds, causing disruption in road traffic. Rail and Air traffic were also disrupted.

The forecast said there will be spills or thundershowers and occasional heavy rainfall will continue till further analysis.
