Mumbai, Jul 4: The city has been witnessing incessant rains for the last 4 days.  Nearly 2500 citizens from Bail Bazar and Kranti Nagar localities in the city had to be shifted to neighboring municipal schools owing to floods caused by the heavy rains.  

On Sunday July 1, governor S. M. Krishna braved strong winds and rains to visit the headquarters of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to get first hand information on the efforts being made by the municipal body and other authorities, to bring the situation under control. Later governor Krishna and city Mayor Dr Shubha Raul visited the Kranti Nagar locality near Kurla.
