Mangalore Aug 21: B Nagaraj Shetty, minister for fisheries and endowment, has informed that the state government has plans on the anvil to will start dredging fisheries harbours soon. Tenders for the work will be called in a few days, he added here on Monday, August 20.

Speaking to the media, Shetty said the government has allotted Rs 5 crore in the 2007-08 budget for dredging purpose.
According to him even the union government was expected to contribute an equal amount for the purpose. Moreover he added that the government was planning to purchase a dredger costing Rs 8.50 crore.
