Mangalore Sep 29: Latest news reaching here from Kasargod informed that several miscreants were pelting stones at all Kasargod-bound private buses, particularly at Manjeshwar since the morning of Saturday September 29.

As one may recall that on Thursday September 27 a speeding bus while overtaking a biker had knocked him down fatally in Manjeshwar, which raised the hackles of several people at the callousness and speeding attitude of bus drivers. They are now demanding measures to curb and cut down the speed limit by private operatives.

Another grievance of the disgruntled youths were the bad state of the roads at Manjeshwar with the entire stretch out there full of potholes, which has now culminated in the stone throwing incident by the protesters to vent out their ire against the state government and private transport operators.

Since the incident has taken a serious turn out there, the bus operators in the city in view of the tense situation have stopped plying buses to Kasargod and are contemplating their future course of action.
