Udupi, Oct 6: An inter-collegiate music competition of Mangalore University ‘Swara Raga Sudha’ was inaugurated at the MGM College here on Friday October 5.

Addressing the gathering Mangalore University welfare officer K Chinnappa Gowda stated that students should realize participation in a competition is more important than winning a prize. He advised that winning or losing both should be taken in a positive spirit as this will enable them to go ahead in life. 

According to Chinnappa such occasions give the participants an opportunity to develop new contacts and create new friends. Moreover it will also help students to accept defeat as part and parcel of life. 

‘Swara Raga Sudha’ was inaugurated by writer A Ishwarayya while principal of MGM College. Jayaprakash Mavinakuli presided over the function. 

On this occasion convener of the programme V Arvind Hebbar and principal of MGM pre-University College Arun Kumar were also present.
