Mangalore Oct 6:  A drawing cum quiz competition for the school children on October 12 as part of wildlife week 2007 celebrations will be organized by Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Biological Park of the Pilikula Nisarga Dhama, stated a press release.

The drawing competitions will begin at 9.30 am and the quiz competition at 2 pm. The theme for both the competitions will be ‘nature’ and wildlife.’  The competition will be held in four categories, viz., first standard and below; II to IV standard; V to VII standard and VIII to X standard.

The drawing sheet for the drawing competition will be arranged at the venue itself. The participants have to bring the necessary drawing materials along with them. Three prizes in each category will be given to the winning students.

Moreover at the function, a live demonstration of snakes by experts will also be held.

Students interested in participanting may inform with the details like their name, school, class and the competition in which they take part etc to the office of the director, Dr Shivaram Karanth Pilikula Biological Park, Vamanjoor, Mangalore-28, on or before October 10. There will be a mass vaccination camp, anti-rabies vaccination for dogs and preventive vaccination for foot and mouth disease to the cattle at Moodushedde panchayat office on October 13 between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm.
