Bangalore, Oct 7: Malaysia Airlines is increasing its frequency from Bangalore by adding one more weekly fight from the city. Currently, it operates three weekly flights from Bangalore. The additional flight will start operating from November 3, 2007, every Saturday.

Meanwhile, the airline is also enhancing the flight frequency from Chennai. Malaysia Airlines is adding two more weekly flights to existing seven from Chennai, effective October 28, 2007. With these new flights Malaysia Airlines total seat capacity from Chennai and Bangalore gateway will be increase to 3, 607 seats from present 2, 920 seats.

The airline will operate Airbus 330-300 and Airbus 330-200 on these routes. "Chennai and Bangalore are among the prominent growing gateways for Malaysia Airlines - South Asia operations, contributing significantly to increased passenger's movement and yields.

The airline is optimistic of increasing the passenger yields from these southern gateways," said Christopher Yek, regional manager, South Asia, Malaysia Airlines. With the addition of three new flights, Malaysia Airlines will now operate 30 weekly flights from its present five gateways in India.
