Mangalore, Oct 8: Many people have undergone the replacement of joints and those who have undergone the surgery they are satisfied. But still there are certain misconceptions against getting the replacement of joints in the minds of the people, said Dr HPC Khincha, orthopedic and trauma surgeon, Sagar Apollo Hospital Bangalore addressing a news conference here recently.

Dr Khincha had been in the city with the main intention to clear-off the misconceptions in the minds of the people about the replacement of joints as well as to spread awareness among the general regarding the same.

Dr Khincha further said that many people feel that they have to take bed rest for at least three months after the surgery. But Khincha said the people that with the latest technologies available people will be able to walk home within a couple of days after the surgery.

Many people choose to suffer with the pain rather than undergoing a surgery of joints replacement because they think that surgery is very painful. He further clarified them that surgery is not painful. The patients need not consume even a single pain killer after the surgery, he added.
