Mangalore: United Forum of BSNL Unions to Stage Agitations

Mangalore, Nov 14: United Forum of BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) Unions will stage mass hunger strike and one day strike on November 21 and December 12 respectively, a press note issued by United Forum of BSNL at press club here on Wednesday November 14.

The forum decided to stage agitations as many of long-pending and important issues of BSNL workers are not settled, the forum clarified in the press note.

The agitation programmes have been planned mainly for the implementation of Anomaly committee report, five time-bound promotions to the non-executives, pay upgradation of cadres already in the promotion committee, corporate office issues, civil wing issues, telecom factory issues, telecom accounts issues, compassionate appointments, regularization of casual labour and unilateral decision made by management on transfer policy, CDA rules and others, the press note informed.

The photocopies of the charter of demands of the forum and decision of staging above referred agitation at the already specified venue and date have been sent to chief labour commissioner, secretary, DOT and DDG (SR) and convener, promotion committee, the press note specified.
