M'lore: FMMC to host Women's Basket Ball Tournament 2007

Mangalore, Nov 15: RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences) single zone inter-collegiate women's basketball tournament 2007 cum selection trail, organized jointly by Father Muller Medical College (FMMC) and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore will be inaugurated on Monday November 19 at FMMC grounds, said Ramesh Naik, sports coordinator, FMMC.

He was speaking at press conference here on Thursday November 15.
 
The event will be inaugurated by Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman, Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri and Fr Patrick Rodrigues, director, FMCI, will preside over the inaugural ceremony, he added.
 
The six teams, that is, Devraj Urs Medical college, Kolar, MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, JSS Medical College, Mysore, KS Hegde Medical College, Yenapoya Medical College will take part in the tournament. Selection trial to represent RGUHS will also be conducted after the tournament, he informed.
 
The selection committee consists of Dr B Sanjeeva Rai, dean, FMMC, Vaneesha Rodrigues, convener and member, Dr Mohan Alva, board of Sports member and Syndicate member, Dr Chetana, assistant professor in community medicine andboard of sports member, Krishnanda, university observer and physical director, SDMN and YS, Ujire, Shivananda Narahatti, physical director, Navodaya Medical College, Raichur and Gangadar GS, physical director, RRDC, Bangalore, he elaborated.
 
The qualifiers of this tournament will play in the south- west zone at S Venkateshwara University, Tirupathi in the first week of January 2008, he informed.
