K'pur: ANF Cordons-off Naxals’ Terrain following Exchange of Fire

Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (RD)

Kundapur, Nov 15: Following exchanged of fire with the Naxals near Amavasebail, the police have intensified combing operations on Wednesday November 14.  The Naxals who disappeared in the thick forest of Ammugundy after the encounter are said to have slipped into Shimoga region. Accordingly the police have cordoned-off the region and have launched search operations.

The ANF and special police personnel have begun intensive combing operation led by SP Laboo Ram.  The terrain has been cordoned-off by the ANF men since they have the vital clues of Naxal leader, Mahesh who was assumed to be leading Naxals in the area, along with local Naxal girl Laxmi in the woods.  Moreover there is also a doubt that either one or two Naxals have been injured in the encounter which means that they would not have travelled a great length in the forest.  Police have found some blood stains along the way which suggest that Naxals have sustained injuries.
