M'lore: Scholarship Distributed to Children of Fisheries Labourers

Mangalore, Nov 18: The scholarship distribution programme under Life Insurance Corporation of India’s (LIC) Janashree insurance scheme for the children of members of Bunder fisheries labourers association and Dakshina Kannada district fish market labourers association, was held at Bunder fish market premises on Sunday, November 18 evening.

B Vishnumurti, president of Dakshina Kannada district fish market labourers association and Bunder fisheries labourers association, presided over the programme.

Y S Ashok, manager of LIC (P&G S) Mangalore, Suresh Kumar, director of Fisheries Department, A S Acharya of Udupi district CITU, Yashwant Maroli, district president of ALU, B Sitaram Suvarna, president Trawl Boat Fishermen Association and entrepreneur K E Rashid were the chief guests of the occasion.

Hundreds of students were distributed with scholarships on this occasion.
