Udupi: Campus Rock Idol Competition Held at Manipal - Pics

Udupi, Nov 19: The Hero Honda Motorola Campus Rock Idol competition was held at Shantala Grounds in Manipal near here on Saturday November 17.

Fahrenheit, Bangalore and Nerverek, Chennai were the South Zone winners of this competition.

According to a press release, more than 20 bands competed in the regional competition. Manipal Blind Image, Can of Bliss and Chimera were also the part of this competition.

In the zonal finals which was held later in the evening Fahrenheit and Chaos, Trivandrum, from Manipal competed with Skrypt (winner), café Dilemma (1st runner) from Hyderabad, illuminist (winner) and Nerverek (1st runner) from Bangalore.

The south zonal winners will participate with the zonal winners from West, North and East in CRI 2007 National finals. This will be held in Delhi at University Polo Grounds on Sunday December 2.

The winner of this year’s campus Rock Idol will also receive a cash prize of Rs 75,000 along with a chance to perform alongside an international Rock Iconic artist.

The first runner-up will receive cash award of s 50,000 and the second runner-up will receive cash award of Rs 25,000.

The awards are sponsored and presented by Hero Honda and Motorola in association with Reliance, Levis and VH1.
