Udupi: One-day Workshop on AIDS Awareness Held

Udupi, Nov 19: A one-day workshop on AIDS awareness and Anaemia free India, jointly sponsored by field publicity office, ministry of Broadcasting and Information and Information and Lions Club, Manipal, for the Anganawadi workers, was organized at Physiology department of KMC, Manipal near here recently.

 Dr H J Gowrie inaugurated the said workshop. Dr Rajesh Bhakth, associate professor in KMC and president, Lions Club Manipal presided over the inaugural ceremony.

Dr Pratap Kumar, professor and head obstetrics and Gynecology in KMC Manipal was the chief guest. Dr Shree Laxmi, assistant professor in the department of OBG was the resource person. Dr Laxmi delivered a talk on the prevention of AIDS.

Dr H J Gowrie in her inaugural address called upon the people to be more cautious about AIDS, a dreadful disease.
