Puttur: Seminar on ‘Theatre in School Education held

Puttur, Nov 21: A seminar on ‘Theatre in school education- Possibilities and Challenges’ was held in the town with the association of Nirata school for children’s drama, Bahuvachanam and Rangayana of Mysore here on Tuesday November 20.

Well-known novelist K T Gatti inaugurated the programme and in his speech declared that introduction of drama in school education is the need of the hour.

According to him, though punishment for children in school has declined to a great extent, parents today are harassing their children in many ways, he added expressing his deep concern.

Further he opined that the dreams of children have been shattered by their parents for their own self-satisfaction and prestige. This largely affects the creative ability within the children, he informed.

B N Shanthapriya, lecturer of Vivekananda Engineering College, presided over the function. Later in the programme Sheena Nadoli of Beltangady presented a paper on the topic.

I K Boluvaru welcomed the gathering. Dr Shreeshakumar proposed the vote of thanks, while Manjula Subrahmanya compered the programme.
