Mangalore: Revenue Officials Lack Knowledge of Law - B K Ravindra

Mangalore, Nov 22: Delay in settlement of disputes relating to government and revenue have largely been due to lack of knowledge among revenue officials accused principal prof B K Ravindra here, on Wednesday November 21.

The majority of cases pending in the revenue and other departments could be solved by officials themselves provided they have thorough knowledge of law. He also said that the officials should be trained regularly on the various aspects of law.

Ravindra said that the SDM Law College would organize a state-level workshop in this regard, in association with Karnataka Institute for Law and Parliamentary Reforms (KILPAR) in January 2008. He also said that at this training assistant commissioner, tahsildars, deputy tahsildars would impart training to equip them in handling disputes.
