M'lore: Samrakshana – Artificial Limb Programme Inaugurated

Mangalore Nov 22: A three-day artificial limb camp, namely, ‘Samrakshana’ was inaugurated by the Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd’s (MRPL) Corporate Social Responsibility Extension Programme for helping the needy beneficiaries of the city here on Wednesday November 21.

The camp was inaugurated by MRPL MD R Rajamani at the MRPL employees’ club in Bala. The camp which began on Wednesday November 21 will conclude on Friday, November 23.

Rakesh Gandhi, Sher Singh and Vivek Ghotkar from M/s Sukda Surgicals and Jaipur Foot began fitting artificial limbs to 60 people who had already registered at the camp.

According to S Hegde, associate vice-president of MRPL (HR) more people are expected to benefit from this initiative. He further added that this is the third time that MRPL has made the famous Jaipur foot available to the deserving in the city under the ‘Samrakshana’ scheme.
