Mangalore, Nov 22: A fishing boat was severely damaged, when it inadvertently hit another partially submerged boat which had capsized a few months back at an estuary near Mulihitlu in the early morning hours of Wednesday November 21.

The said boat ‘Master’ was coming back to the shore after fishing activities in the deep sea. However, just before it reached the shore, it hit the debris of the capsized boat.  As a result, boat was damaged to a great extent.  The loss has been estimated at Rs 3.5 lac.

In all, a total of 5 fishermen were in the boat, when the tragedy took place. People from another tailing fishing boat rescued these people. One may recall that, just 4 days back a fishing boat named ‘Bhagyajyoti’ had collided with the same partially submerged boat and it too was badly damaged and capsized later.
