Mangaluru: Body of missing fisherman found

Mangaluru, Aug 9: The mortal remains of fisherman from Tamil Nadu, Chandan, was found from Someshwara near Ullal on Monday August 8. Chandan had gone missing after the fishing boat for which he was working overturned at the estuary in Kotepura on Saturday.

The fishermen were returning to the shore after conducting fishing by using a country boat, when huge waves near Kotepura estuary capsized the boat. At the time of this tragedy, one of the fishermen, Manex, had succeeded in swimming to the shore and saving himself. Local divers, Fayaz, Rameez, and others had jumped into the sea to help the fishermen in distress. Fayaz had succeeded in helping the other fisherman, Kumaran, but he was killed after his head accidentally banged against a rock.

An elaborate search was launched to find Chandan. His body was found on Monday.
