Bengaluru: Former CS, Arvind Jadhav's land irregularity case surfaces again

Bengaluru, Oct 14: The allegation about irregularities committed in acquisition of land in the name of former state chief secretary, Arvind Jadhav, and his mother, Tarabai Maruthirao Jadhav, in violation of rules pertaining to acquisition of farm land by non-agriculturists in Hegganahalli and Ramanayakanahalli in Anekal taluk, is being investigated afresh.

After the allegation surfaced, the sub-divisional officer was asked to look into it. On the basis of his report, clean chit was given to Jadhav and his mother. However, a thorough verification of original documents, it is said, has given rise to some suspicion. Revenue minister, Kagodu Thimmappa, said that a re-survey of the land has been ordered.

Although the sub-divisional officer in his report had confirmed that there were no violations in the said land purchase transaction, some doubts have arisen about the entire transaction now. The minister said that during the re-survey, issues like in whose name the 74 acres of land under survey No. 29 stood in the past, and to whom it was sanctioned, and who bought the land from whom, what are the changes observed in the original documents and the current ones etc.

In addition to verification of all the documents and comparing them with the originals, conducting fresh survey, he said, would bring out the truth. He added that if anyone is found to have committed irregularities, they would be proceeded against.
