It is sad that a young and brilliant boy has lost life. Despite having boards at ullal and other beaches people go for swimming and many have lost lives. When we start learning from others mistakes ????!!!! Because we will not be able to learn from our own mistakes, like this boy might have made one mistake and no more to tell us his story !!

Rohit Haridas was my closest friend alive. His sister used to be my school-mate. It was such a trajedy for all our families, as we lost one of the most innocent, cute & friendly of people alive! I could not bear to see the look on Megha's face, a face which has never stopped smiling, until now! His mom has yet not known of his death and is only informed that he is missing.

The mother still has hopes of finding him again. I personally feel like I am dead, a part of me gone forever! Sometimes we wonder how can God be so cruel to those so innocent...

Time and again drowning incidents are happening in beaches of south kanara. While the beaches cannot be made safe, awareness can be created. The authorities should display the names & photos of the drowned persons on the beach so that people will be scared of venturing in to the sea and precious lives will be saved.
