M'lore: 'Bhava Sanchaya' to Bring Forth Skills of Poets, Painters

Mangalore, Feb 21: 'Bhava Sanchaya,' a poetry and painting programme will be held atop Devendra Betta on the banks of the Netravati at Pajir near here on Sunday February 24, informed Dinesh Holla, convener of Vanya Charana Balaga here at a press conference on Thursday February 21.

He informed that 22 poets will read their poems and equal number of painters will display their artistic skills using expressions of poems as themes.

The programme will be inaugurated by B Shabbir Ali, art teacher at city's BGM School of Arts and Dr Vamana Nandavara, scholar in folklore will preside over, Holla added.

Speaking on the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony, Holla added that V N Venakatalakshmi, correspondent of Vijaya Karnataka, Bangalore bureau, Ravi Shankar Oddambettu, lecturer at Government Pre-university College of Kanyana and Permude Mohan Kumar, art teacher at city's Canara High School will be the chief guests.

Sudhir Kumar, president, Ramesh Kamat, vice-president, Vinay and Praveen Kumar, secretaries of Vanya Charana Balaga were present at the press conference.
