Bengaluru, May 11: Even after a week since the government finalised names for the three vacant seats in the legislative council and sent its recommendations backed by documents, the governor is yet to give his approval, it is gathered.

On Tuesday, chief minister, Siddaramaiah, had met the governor and provided an explanation about the basis on which these three names were recommended. However, the governor is learnt to have sought certain clarifications. Therefore, the nominated members are kept waiting.

The government had nominated P R Ramesh, Mohan Kondajji, and C M Lingappa to the posts. As nominations have to pertain to people having significant contributions to fields like social service, documents in support of their work in respective fields had been forwarded to the governor.

The government is also apprehensive about the chances of the governor rejecting the recommendations altogether.
