Udupi, May 8: Well-known photojournalist Hemanath Padubidri, who is also Daijiworld's correspondent, bagged three prizes in the issue-based photography competition organized for youth by Photographic Society of Sagar.

Winning photographs

He won the appreciation letter in ‘rural life’ photography and second prize in ‘emotional moments.’ He also won the special prize for best action photography.

He has been serving as photojournalist in the city for past 17 years.

    Hemanth, Where were you hiding in that drizzle and with your camera ready to shoot on split second? A second too late, and you would have missed the expressions of the bull’s rage and the Constable’s (??) instant reaction to the surprise charge (his feet above ground and the laathi (??) flying out of his hand. A second too early and the expressions would not have been this perfect. I loved and all three photographs. However, the “Bull & the Bugger” captivates and makes one laugh out loud imagining the situation (no, I don’t have anything against the cops or anyone who would be in that situations). However, funny it certainly is. Wish you all the best. -Joel NB: You can provide a brief background on all three photographs. That write-up will make a interesting read for.
