Karkala, May 17: Bhoja Shetty and his relative Suresh Shetty of Hebri who had been shot down by suspected Naxals near Hebri were cremated in Bhoja Shetty's farm on Friday May 16 evening.

Hundreds of relatives, near and dear ones and fans of Bhoja Shetty and Suresh, leaders of different parties, Bajarang Dal leaders, who were present on the occasion, presented their final tribute to the deceased. Both were cremated side-by-side in Bhoja Shetty's farm.

There was no one to console Bhoja Shetty's wife Sheelavati, their children and Suresh Shetty's wife Vinoda and their children.

Meanwhile some locals laid a siege to Hebri police station after police arrested some local Congress activists. Block Congress president H Prasanna Ballal demanded the police that Congress activists Udaya Acharya and other Congress activists, who had been arrested, must be released soon.

Police said that probe into the killings of Bhoja Shetty and Suresh Shetty has been initiated and in this connection some people have been taken to custody for interrogation.
