Doctor’s House Burgled in Puttur

MANGALORE, May 17: The house of Ganesh Prasad, a physician, at Mudraje in Puttur was reportedly burgled on Saturday. Gold ornaments and cash worth Rs. 1.15 lakh are said to have been stolen.

Puttur town police have registered a case based on a complaint from Dr. Ganesh Prasad.

It is said that the crime was committed when the residents of the house had gone for casting their votes. According to the police, the thieves gained entry by breaking the back door of the house.

The incident is said to have taken place between 9.30 a.m. and 12.15 p.m.

Suicides


Stella (40), resident of Yerkala Amtady village in Bantwal taluk, reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a well near her house owing to health problem. A case has been registered at Bantwal Town Police Station on Saturday.

In another case, Yogish Naik (18), resident of Ariyamoole Kepu village in Bantwal taluk, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a well near his house on Saturday. A case has been registered at Vittla Police Station.
