Shirva: Property Dispute Ends with Gruesome Murder of Louis Castelino ( 50)

Udupi, May 18: A person identified as Louis Castelino ( 50) was hacked to death over a property dispute late on Saturday May 17 night.

The deceased, a resident of Battageni, in Pilar village  under the limits of Shirva , was reportedly hacked to death by his neighbour Harischandra Acharya. The fight started over  a  dispute  on an access road . The verbal abuse soon ended up in mutual assault.



Louis Castelino had settled down in his native place  just a  year ago, after  working in the Gulf for nearly 15 years.  He had filed a case over the property dispute between him and Harischandra Acharya a few
months ago  and court  proceedings were in progress.  Unfortunately the verbal altercation between each other on Saturday night culminated in the murder of Louis Castelino.

Harischandra Acharya who was also critically injured   has been admitted at the District Government Hospital.

SP Devjyoti Roy, DySP Girish, circle inspector Vinay Nayak and sub inspector N C Ganesh have visited the crime spot.

A case has been registered  and Shirva police  are investigating
