Mumbai, Oct 5 (IANS): Actor Sahil Salathia, known for shows like "Everest" and "P.O.W. - Bandi Yuddh Ke", is set to make his Bollywood debut with "Julie 2". He feels the difference between small and big screens has reduced massively.

"The distinction between small and big screens has reduced massively if not completely. Sometimes on the small screen, you see some phenomenal work. The same goes with films. It's not about the medium anymore. It's all about the content that you're being a part of," Sahil told IANS.

Talking about working in Ashutosh Gowariker's show "Everest" and Nikkhil Advani's "P.O.W. - Bandi Yuddh Ke", he said: "Both of them are filmmakers. But they came on board to create magic on the small screen. Similarly, as an actor I am making my transition from the small screen to the big screen with 'Julie 2'."

His forthcoming film "Julie 2" isn't the first movie offered to him. 

"I did quite a few festival films which have travelled across the globe. One of them was 'There Will Be Tomorrow' where I played an HIV+ character," he said.

This time, he plays a cricketer - Vikram.

"Julie (played by Raai Laxmi) and I have a love angle. Most of my scenes were shot in Dubai, Hyderabad and Mumbai. They form a large part of the story. It's also an extremely layered character which made it all the more challenging for me as an actor," said Sahil.

There were reports that his character is inspired by cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

"People might even draw a comparison to a popular Indian cricketer, but I wasn't given any reference points and that factor wasn't the basis of my signing up for the role," said the actor.
