Mumbai, Jun 19: There was chaos at the MPCC meeting in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon, when some party workers complained that they were unable to see Congress president Sonia Gandhi on the dias.
Some Congress party workers, most of them supporters of Narayan Rane started shouting slogans against Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.
The CM tried to pacify them but the chaos continued. Angry Congressmen continued to shout slogans as Home Minister and senior Congress leader from Maharashtra, Shivraj Patil addressed the meeting.
Later, when Sonia Gandhi started speaking, a man in the crowd reportedly stood up and started waving a black flag.
Some Congress workers allegedly started beating him, at which Sonia Gandhi stopped her speech and intervened.
